at Koger, then 4 cans would be about 18.00 for 46 oz. Why does it cost more on Amazon if you buy 2 of the 23 oz. cans? The cost should be around 17.00, I do love Melitta; it is the best!!

Melitta is known throughout Europe as the budget brand; nothing beats Italian dark roast prices and brands. Melitta comes pretty darn close, especially for American palettes. If you like gourmet blends like Peet's or Starbucks (or my regional South Bend Chocolate Company Coffee) then Melitta is an excellent substitute for a more affordable price.
I ordered a two-pack here on Amazon to offer my husband a taste taste and although his Scottish-Irish roots lean toward the frugal side of things (unless I'm the one who's paying), he was quite surprised with this flavor. When I first ordered Melitta Columbian he complained that the price was too high. "Go ahead and order it if you want (it's not like he can stop me, I DO earn a wage!) but I'm telling you I won't drink it!"
But now he IS drinking it and although it's pricier than his budget Folger's brand, he's now brewing my chosen Melitta Colombian as the primary coffee in the morning.
European blends are ground smaller and are more robust than American blends, and I find my B&D coffee maker allows some of the grounds to leak through into the coffee pot. I reckon a European coffee maker will be my next choice, but for now I'll sacrifice a slightly "muddy" texture in my coffee just to enjoy my morning Melitta.

I've tried the Melitta brand coffee available at my grocery store and have always been pleased at its smoothness. I was glad to see their coffee available here at such a great price.
As stated in an other review here, one can adjust the scoop amounts according to what you prefer. One of the best ground coffees in a can around this site, I must say!

This coffee is "fine ground", you can get by with using less in your coffee maker or french press. Very rich flavor. First found this coffee in Vancouver, BC. Can't find it in Tennessee, so thankfully Amazon carries this super coffee!

No, its not quite an oxymoron. But my initial purchase of Melitta Columbian indicates that there is hope for getting good coffee at a reasonable price. For everyday consumption, its pretty good, and much better than the typical major brand can you'll find at the store.
