fantastic coffee. Now I'm spoiled rotten. Had to make do with a lesser (although I used to think the lesser was good coffee but now pftt!) when I ran out, became miserable and surly without my morning perfect cup. and this IS the perfect cup of coffee.

if you're a coffee person, get yourself a coffee maker that grinds too, because no point in pregrinding and wrecking the perfection. if you're gonna do it, do it right.

I bought the coffee originally because i liked the idea of an organic coffee that was french roasted. i like a strong cup of coffee and this coffee provides that as well as one of the best aromas and tastes of any cup of coffee ive ever had. I use this coffee with an inexpensive grinder and a nice percolator. This coffee is absolutely worth the price.

The first impression I had of this coffee was "weak". I used the same amount of coffee I always use. The next pot I used about 25% more coffee and it was better but still weak. I used even more the next time and although it was strong enough it just didn't have the full, bold richness I was expecting after reading the other reviews. I like a dark coffee, not bitter but almost and this isn't it. It's very smooth and subtle which I do not consider good qualities in coffee. Additionally, the beans were irregular in color, some quite dark and others light. They were also very hollow and brittle, not firm at all. This is an inferior coffee in my opinion.

Melitta is known throughout Europe as the budget brand; nothing beats Italian dark roast prices and brands. Melitta comes pretty darn close, especially for American palettes. If you like gourmet blends like Peet's or Starbucks (or my regional South Bend Chocolate Company Coffee) then Melitta is an excellent substitute for a more affordable price.

I ordered a two-pack here on Amazon to offer my husband a taste taste and although his Scottish-Irish roots lean toward the frugal side of things (unless I'm the one who's paying), he was quite surprised with this flavor. When I first ordered Melitta Columbian he complained that the price was too high. "Go ahead and order it if you want (it's not like he can stop me, I DO earn a wage!) but I'm telling you I won't drink it!"

But now he IS drinking it and although it's pricier than his budget Folger's brand, he's now brewing my chosen Melitta Colombian as the primary coffee in the morning.

European blends are ground smaller and are more robust than American blends, and I find my B&D coffee maker allows some of the grounds to leak through into the coffee pot. I reckon a European coffee maker will be my next choice, but for now I'll sacrifice a slightly "muddy" texture in my coffee just to enjoy my morning Melitta.

I have purchased many different flavors of the Coffee Masters ground coffee. They are the best I have ever found. Also discovered that they make a really awesome iced coffee on a hot day. I just make a pot, let it cool and put it in the fridge. Just throw some ice in a glass and add sugar and cream to taste. I had pretty high hopes for this considering how many people were saying this is a strong cuppa with lots of flavor.

While it's better than all of the senseo pods or other mass marketed ones, it doesn't match up to the rich cup of joe from the Baronet Small Village blend pods.

Also, the flavor from these is pretty cardboard-like and one dimensional.

It's a cup of coffee. It does the job. But it's not something I'd buy again.

I have the Pod Holster for the Keurig because the Pods are usually a better deal. Up until now though all the pods I got (usually Senseo) were ok in flavor but usually very weak. Melitta are the first pods that I've found that are the perfect cup. Very good strong cup of coffee. They are individually wrapped so each retains their freshness. The Senseo ones are packed all together in one pouch. And you get 72 pods for a great price w/ the subscribe & save. Much better deal than the K cups.
